Exhibition Profile 
    With the development of the Chinese craftworks and gifts industry over the past 20 years, China has become the world¡¯s largest manufacturing and export country with the annual production value of more than 150 billion yuan and the annual increase rate of nearly 20 percent. In recent years, a great number of overseas orders of craftworks and gifts have been transferred to China, mainly from the European and USA general merchandise industry, multinational chain supermarkets, and professional distributors, etc. Meanwhile, 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and World Expo Shanghai 2010 will also bring great business opportunities to the craftworks and gifts industry. 
 
    China (Yiwu) International Arts & Crafts and Gifts & Household Supplies Expo is approved by the Ministry of Commerce of the People¡¯s Republic of China, sponsored by China Chamber of Commerce for Import & Export of Light Industrial Products & Arts-Crafts (CCCLA), administrated and organized by Shanghai Jingu Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. The Expo, one of three major exhibitions of arts & crafts and gifts in China, is a professional exhibition organized by Shanghai Jingu Exhibition Service Co., Ltd. by use of the local resources and advantages of Yiwu International Trade City. It is also a trade platform of the industry with the principle of ¡°Promoting Trade Transactions and Establishing Cooperation Platform¡±. 
 
    Every year, the exhibition attracts many manufacturers and merchants engaged in arts and crafts, gifts and adornments to gather in Yiwu from Europe, America, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Middle East, China mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and other countries and regions. Since 2004, this exhibition has been held in.Yiwu regularly for four sessions. The size of the exhibition floor has been expanded from 6500 m2 originally to 15000 m2. The number of professional visitors and buyers has also been increased up to nearly 34000 persons, which almost doubled the previous year. The trade sales on the exhibition are accumulated to over 600 million yuan.  
 
    Looking back to the trade fair held in March, 2007, the super-large exhibition area with the main exhibition hall of 15000 m2 and the secondary hall of 1500000 m2 attracted 33785 regional high-quality buyers across the world, so as to realize the sales of trade up to 342 million yuan. The buyers came from North America, Europe, Middle East, Japan, South Korea and other main export markets. It was hoped that more products of the enterprises of arts and crafts, gifts and adornments can be sold and promoted throughout the country and even around the world, thus establishing the image of the Chinese small commodities in the world and letting the world learn about China as well.  
 
   Jingu Exhibition Service Co. Ltd. will open up a professional website for www.chinacraftfair.com this Expo to strengthen long-range communications with manufacturers and global buyers of arts and crafts, gifts and household supplies. During the Expo, Shanghai International Merchandising Center will be present on the exhibition floor with part of procurement orders of international purchasing giants so as to make direct and effective purchase to he Chinese suppliers and exhibitors. Meanwhile, seminars and symposiums will be held to provide forecast analysis of the arts and crafts market trends, display and illustrate the applications of new matermals and new techniques, showcase excellent design works and concepts, and let enterprises grasp better the direction of market development. 
 
    It is hoped by the organizers that this Expo will provide a unique opportunity for the manufacturers and global buyers of arts and crafts, gifts and household supplies to make direct contacts and establish the business relationship and enhance export sales.
